Words from our Principal

“Go then, and make disciples of all the nations, giving them baptism in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit:
Teaching them to keep all the rules which I have given you: and see, I am ever with you, even to the end of the world.”

(Matthew 28:19-29)

Christian education is when teachers first become disciples of Jesus Christ themselves, and then do their best to help those around them become His disciples as well. It means believing in Jesus Christ’s views and values about life, living according to them, and passing them on to others.

I will look at Christian education from three perspectives. The first perspective is the concept. We need to have an understanding of the values of Jesus Christ, and these understandings come from the Bible. How does Jesus view life? How does He view the value of a person? How should we live our lives? How should we interact with others? These are all mentioned in the Bible. Therefore, as educators, we must first have a thorough understanding of what we are conveying, so that we can pass this knowledge on to the next generation.

The second aspect is practice. God’s greatest commandment to us is to love God and to love others as ourselves. Loving God means establishing a deep and intimate relationship with Him. Loving God involves caring about His views and feelings, and striving to please Him. God is a spirit, so our communion with Him is spiritual. In the spiritual realm, we think about God, experience His love and relationship. Afterwards,we apply this understanding in life—love yourself (live well) and love others (get along well with others, consider their needs, bless them).

The third aspect is transmission. When we have a deep understanding and experience of the teachings of Jesus Christ on both conceptual and practical levels, we can convey these teachings through our words and actions.

Christian education is a far-reaching influence, with the ultimate goal of making all nations disciples of Christ.
